Children Feeding Program
In Pettis, Benton and Henry counties we have served:
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) helps assure that eligible populations have access to nutritious meals during the summer months. When school is not in session, SFSP provides reimbursement to community agencies offering the required continuum of meals. Eligible participants include: children 0 through 18 years of age whose family incomes are less than or equal to 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines; and to income-eligible adults over 18 years of age who have been determined by a state educational agency to have a disability and who participate in a school-based program for the disabled during the school year.
The SFSP is administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
This program was initated in 2010 by the Sedalia Salvation Army and been in operation since that time. We became the sponsor for the Program in the Spring of 2020.
Senior Feeding Program
This is for individuals 60 years of age and older, it is an income based program and those receiving SNAP Benefits (Food Stamps), Public Housing and other support programs will automatically qualify.
By February 2022 we will be serving 100 seniors and expansion of the program depends on funding.
Program is funded in part by United Way of Pettis County
This is NOT a government funded program.
